The Northern Ireland Science Shop is a link between the universities and the community. The Science Shop has offices at Queen's University and the University of Ulster and has contacts with non-profit groups throughout Northern Ireland. For more information about our work please follow the links or look at our publications
Community and voluntary groups often require specialist skills to develop their work. The Science Shop can put these groups in touch with students who might be able to work with them. Since the Science Shop opened we have helped community and voluntary groups throughout Northern Ireland. The Science Shop accepts requests for information and research on all subjects including environmental issues, art and design, information technology, community health issues, local history, social policy and legal issues. Have a look at the Completed Projects section for examples of completed projects and research topics which may of use to your organisation. The first Science Shops were set up in Dutch
universities in the 1960's. They are an established part of universities
all over Europe. |
